| Drakes look like dragons, but small. Their size makes some people think of them as they would think about a pet, but this annoys drakes to no end. They are fully sentient and intelligent beings, and being treated like a pet is the fastest way to get on the drake’s bad side.
Drakes have seven limbs: Two wings, two legs, a tail, and two arms that are also used for walking. Drakes are semi-upright. They can manage a goofy gait on two legs, but move on the ground best with four limbs. They are reptiles with scales, claws, and sharp teeth. Their scale color tends to be dark shades like maroon, brown, black, dark blue, dark green, or a dark rusty orange color. Like humans, they have a rare albino type coloring that can be either silver or light gold.
There is a growing tendency to wear clothing, though usually more for utility than modesty. It affords an easier time carrying gear, and when drakes visit cold regions, they can benefit from the warmth of thick clothing.

These traits are had by all members of the species, and they cannot be gotten rid of. Leveled
advantages can be dropped to one level to suggest your character is not as good as others of
their species in that way, but that's it.

	| Trait |
	| Claws, Sharp | n/a | Allows unarmed damage to be cutting instead of crushing damage. |
	| DR, Scales 1 | 5/lvl, max 3 | Drake scales provide DR 1 everywhere except the eyes and mouth unless they are closed. |
	| Flight, Winged | 24 | Provides an additional Move Score, but for flying. It equals Basic Speed x2, round down. Flying move can be adjusted for 2 pts / yard of speed. Cannot hover, and must move at least 1/4 speed. |
	| Innate Attack: Fire Pitch | 14 | Drakes can spit a small glob of burning napalm-like substance once per hour (their bodies have to produce more). Attack roll is "Innate Attack" skill. Range is 5 yards, ACC 3, damage 1d+3 burn, cyclic for 2 more seconds. |
	| Peripheral Vision | n/a | Drake's eyes are set a bit wider and a bit to the side giving them excellent peripheral vision. |
	| Talent: Daring Fliers +2 | 5/lvl, max 4 | Drakes are natural fliers and known to be more talented than full sized dragons with fancy flying. Skills affected: Aerobatics, Flight, Free Fall, Innate Attack: Breath Weapon, and Navigation: Air |
	| Teeth, Sharp | 1 | allows for a better bite attack than normal: thr-1 cut |
	| Telescopic Vision 5 | 2/lvl, max 10 | counters up to -5 worth of range penalty for vision, or -10 if "aiming". No accuracy bonus with ranged weapons. |
	| Semi-Upright | n/a | Their arms are also their fore-legs. Can manage a clumsy gait for Move -40%. Full speed on all four legs. |
These traits are common to many members of this species. They are not included in the price of
the species, but if you take these disadvantages, they modify the species cost, and do not count
against your normal disadvantage limit. This way, you can save some of the cost of the species
and still take other disadvantages.

	| Trait |
	| Bad Temper: Treated as Pet | -5* | Works like the normal Bad Temper disadvantage, but the trigger is only when treated as a pet instead of an equal. Some drakes are fully bad tempered, but they can't take this separately. |
	| Compulsive Competition | -5* | Drakes love to compete to compare skills or luck or traits... especially around flying. Most Drakes become ill tempered if they can't scratch this itch. |
	| Blood Lust | -10* | Drakes evolved from predator animals and often still feel compelled to deal with those they hunt that way. This is commonly small woodland creatures they're going to eat, but the instinct will still push the Drake to end guards they could otherwise sneak past for example. | |
